Craig, a British individual with extensive international experience, has long harbored a passion for visual media and storytelling. From delving into darkroom processes at a young age to receiving his father’s cherished Canon A1, photography has remained a constant in his life. His journey into photography began with a deep appreciation for film, which he has always sought to integrate into his work. In 2006, Craig completed his BA (Hons) in Photography at Portsmouth.
Since then, Craig has explored various realms of photography, encompassing both commercial and creative endeavors, ranging from landscapes to portraits, documentary to real estate. However, it is street and documentary photography that has particularly resonated with him. He approaches photography as an observer, endeavoring to capture authentic moments in natural light with minimal editing.
Craig’s photographic pursuits have led him to diverse locations, including capturing the lives of fair trade coffee farmers in the Andes, documenting West Bank Palestinians, photographing Roma Gypsies across the Balkans, and chronicling the Karen Hill Tribe in Northern Thailand. Continuously engaging in reading, studying, researching, and writing, he remains on the lookout for new projects to undertake and opportunities to contribute.
In 2023, Craig conceived the idea for “Come to Light” upon recognizing a significant gap in addressing the well-being and trauma experienced by photojournalists. He noticed a lack of discourse and action on this front and sought to fill the void. “Come to Light” aims to establish a community of visual journalists supporting each other and those aspiring to carve their own path in the field, essentially aiding those in need.
Currently, “Come to Light” operates as an educational platform, with aspirations for further growth and development in the future.
